a blog by Big Red So the Warriors improve to 72-9 on the season with the win on the road against the San Antonio Spurs 92-86. The Warriors only have one game left on the year against the Memphis Grizzlies. A team they had just beaten last night by one. The Warriors have the opportunity to set the best NBA record of all time. This year has been so remarkable for the Warriors. We have been talking about the Warriors potential to break this record all year, and now here we are. On Wednesday night, history will be made whether Golden State wins or loses. They will either become the first team to ever go 73-9, or they will officially tie the Bull's with the best record ever of 72-10. San Antonio had not lost a game at home all year long, and the Warriors were not about to let the Spurs go down as the only team in NBA history to never lose at home. So let's take a closer look at what happened in this western conference face off. The main reason Golden State won this game. Stephen fucking Curry. After having a rough shooting night in Memphis, Curry bounced back in a big way tonight. Stephen took over this game from the get go. He shot 59% from the field going 13-22. He had 37 points, 5 rebounds, 5 assists, and 2 steals. What a night for the reigning MVP, and you could tell he was fired up about it. After the win tonight, Golden State got yet another record. They are now the only team in NBA history to not lose back to back games in the regular season. But wait there's fucking more.. In addition, they have set another record, being the only team in NBA history to not lose to the same team twice in a regular season. Jesus, fuck how can this team be stopped? Should we even have the playoffs, at this point? Does anyone think the Warriors will be upset? The amount of records Golden State has set this year is absurd. For anyone who missed the game, I'll post a 3 minute highlight video below. Comments are closed.
