a blog by Iron Horse The West is set baby, and neither has won a Stanley Cup in their franchise history! The Sharks absolutely annihilated the Nashville Predators last night, only to completely ruin my prediction for the series. Got my games right but boy was I wrong about who would end up winning that series. The Sharks are just too good right now, they seemed to have the puck THE ENTIRETY of the game last night. Literally not for one second did it seem like the Predators had any momentum. It started with Joe Pavelski early on the Power Play in the 1st period and San Jose never looked back. Joe Pavelski has scored 9 fuckin times in these playoffs and I wish I could say has been all him but this entire San Jose team from the net out has been phenomenal these last 2 series. Last night was a night you really just have to feel for Pekka Rinne. Joel Ward scored the second goal on an absolute shitting of the bed on D by Roman Josi, a guy this Nashville team has leaded on throughout the postseason. Case and point the Predators just did not show up at all and when this Sharks team is firing on all cylinders like they were last night they are an absolute force. So see yah later Preds, maybe next year. This series will start in St. Louis on Sunday at 8:00 EST. I look for the Sharks to win this series in 6 games, it will take them their hardest fought series yet this playoffs to beat a St. Louis team that has been equally as good, and I'd say a tad bit more physical on their very similar run through these Western Conference Playoffs. They both had the two most prolific teams in the west to defeat in the first round in the Blackhawks and Kings. They both had to fight in hard into a 7 game series in the second round.
Now they meet once and for all to decide who will have a shot at their first franchise Stanley Cup win this postseason. Comments are closed.
