a blog by La Kifo The second and third rounds were held last night, the Patriots made 4 picks, 4 interesting picks. Let's get into it. The New England Patriots started with 4 picks in the 2nd and 3rd rounds. They had the 60th, 61st, 91st, 96th. With the 60th pick the Patriots took Cyrus Jones, DB, Alabama. This kid is a beast. If it wasn't for off the field issues, then Jones would have went early second round, possibly late first round. He is a bit undersized at 5'9, 197 lbs. But he is a playmaker through and through. The kid has great ball skills as he was a wide receiver before switching to corner in his sophomore season. He should be competing for the second corner role or nickle back. The way our secondary looks right now, Jones should have success challenging receivers in press and man coverage.
Patriots fans should love this pick. Great value because he has the talent to be a starting corner but not the physical intangibles, like a lot of player Belichick has drafted during his reign. Comments are closed.
