a blog by Big Red With KD leaving OKC and the questions surrounding Blake Griffin and his injury status, The Celtics have a chance to trade for either of the two. Thank god for those draft picks huh? When we first got rid of Pierce and Garnett, Boston fans were freaking out. Despite the fact that both guys were getting older and their games were clearly diminishing, fans were pissed at Danny Ainge. Well who's laughing now, because the Celtics are sitting pretty with draft picks galore. We now are in a place where we have already signed one of the best centers in the league, and now have an opportunity to trade for a dominant nba all star.
With all that being said, I'm not so sure Blake Griffin would work out in Boston. He's had some injury problems, and while he is a phenomenal player in this league, I've never been a fan of his game. Not to mention there's a chance we'd be giving up a guy like crowder to get him. It would be a shame to see Crowder go after the breakout year he had this past season. At the very least, the Celtics should give him one more year in the green and white to see if he continues his growth into an even better NBA player. When it comes to Russell Westbrook, I would only want to sign him if he was willing to get a contract extension with us, and if we don't lose Isaiah Thomas in the trade. It would make no sense in giving up draft picks and players for Russell Westbrook if we only got him for one season. If we were able to trade for either guy I would prefer getting Westbrook, even though both guys would make an immediate improvement on our team. There's still plenty of time for Danny Ainge to think this one through, before he makes any type of mistake. Stay tuned for more Celtics news.. Comments are closed.
