Jake Bentley is a Junior QB for Opelika High School, Alabama. He is ranked as the #2 QB and #33 overall in the 2017 recruiting class.
According to an twitter post Jake Bentley will forgo his senior season of High School FB and join the 2016 recruits in Columbia. He is the first notable modern athlete to do so in the sport. A lot of what High School football is about is senior year. According to other people who played football, senior year is supposed to be filled with camaraderie. According to a first hand account, All I remember is a lot of something rhyming with bush.

Bentley has the physical intangibles, weighing in at over 200 lbs 6'3.5 and all at the ripe age of 18.  Based on his Junior season stat line, it is pretty clear he no longer needs to line up across inferior competition.  Bentley threw for over 2,800 yards, 28 TDs and 8 INTs.

The kid is smart, he realized he would benefit more from a better work out program and a better staff of coaches. Also he doesnt fuck with that small time HS dick sucking, he wants that professional suck job. And he picked the perfect place at the University of South Carolina. So many hot bids down there, and some beautiful weather. This kid is gonna have the time of his life. Good looks Bentley. Your an honorary boy.

BUT we will revoke that if your not cleaning up down there. And I've got my people in Columbia so don't think I wont know man.

UPDATE: Just a quick little update. Watched his hudl film, or half of it. Things he needs to work on: Pocket presence, the kid is really good at staying on his mark and delivering a throw with defenders rushing at him. When the pocket was clean, a lot of the times he took negative steps (negative steps = unnecessary movement in the pocket, moving from the middle of the pocket towards either sideline without any pressure) an example of QBs that are great with pocket presence and footwork, Tom Brady Drew Brees. Watch those guys feet in the pocket, more times then none it is exactly the fundamentals you want in your QB. Also he needs to work on his arm strength. A couple of deep throws he could not muster to lead his reciever. But in reality every QB going from high school to college gains substantial arm strength if they didnt already have it.

The really great parts of his game, like I mentioned earlier, he has a cool head under pressure. Bentley has a ridiculously accurate arm. The touch passes he throws in his highlights look like NFL throws. There are a couple in there that will make football purists mouths drop. 18 year old Juniors should not have the kind of control this kid has on the ball.

The past couple of years South Carolina has recruited speed guys for QBs. Bentley is the complete opposite he is a pocket passer first. He rarely breaks the pocket to run, and I imagine he will do it even less at the college level.

If South Carolina handles this kid well, he could be a star for this team.
