a blog by Schoolboy Jew Can't believe I have to do this article for all the whiners out there. Okay, so if you haven't heard, the Chicago Cubs acquired the very hard throwing lefty closer Aroldis Chapman. The guy is a monster. 28 years old, 6 foot 4, 220 pounds....and he can throw up to 106 miles per hour. That's the fastest out of anyone in Major League history. No big deal. However, he also is a bit of a psycho. The guy beat his girlfriend and fired six gunshots in to the garage. I want to start by saying this is not acceptable at all and he should be punished for it. So he was. He missed the first 30 games of the 2016 season. In my opinion, that's not enough. But I'm a blogger, not the commissioner. Anyways, Chapman gave the typical apology saying he was sorry for what he did and that he will blah blah blah. You get the idea. Same bs apology you hear from an athlete. Here's the interesting part of the article though. Within minutes of acquiring Chapman, there was an uproar from women against domestic violence groups. Understandable. However, these groups were calling for the Cubs to RELEASE Chapman, the guy they just acquired who could take them to the promised land of a World Series championship. By the way, the Cubs haven't been to the World Series since 1945 and haven't won it all since 1908. So here is the main point of this article. Talking to you here, Women against Domestic Violence. I don't like domestic violence either. It is a horrible crime that scars someone for life. But to say the Cubs should cut him is idiotic. Theo Epstein, the general manager of the Cubs, is a business man. His business goal is to get his team to win the World Series. That's the goal in baseball. Your goal is not "hey let's build a team of upstanding citizens, I don't care how they perform on the field as long as they are good people." I would obviously prefer that players be good citizens but life isn't always fair. I think Greg Hardy is a huge piece of shit but he was also a good player. I would want him on my team, and I don't fault Jerry Jones for getting him, same with Theo Epstein. Stop bitching, ladies. And Go Cubs Go!
