a blog by La Kifo Sam Bradford has retunred to the Eagles facilities and is now participating in organized team activities, ending his hold-out. Looks like Sammy took my advice. The amount of money he was leaving on table is just not worth this squabble. As I have stated before, Bradford is getting paid above market price, for below average output.
Also, it is not like teams would have or were, lining up out the door for his services. Sam did play the majority of games last season, 14, but he wasn't burning down any barn doors. This must have been a conversation that Sam and his agent had over the past few days. Besides Philadelphia is the best place for him right now, mainly because they are the only team that wants him. Also, under Doug Pederson they will be playing a west coast system. They will pack a lot of their formations in with tight ends, and fullbacks. The West Coast offense favors running the rock and underneath passing patterns. It utilizes intermediate routes, between 5-15 yards down the field. If you look at what Sam does the best, it's deliver the football accurately in that range of 5-15 yards. He won't be asked to run tempo and throw down the field like Chip Kelly's offense demanded of him. Now, that does not necessarily mean that Sam will thrive in Philly. I still don't think he or the Eagles will have a good season. Disregard the new offense and new coach, the Eagles have done next to nothing to improve their offense in free agency and the draft. They have what seems to be a talented offensive roster but don't let that deceive you. Last season they had a much more talented offensive roster, paired with a high octane offensive scheme and they finished the year 7-9. Now they are installing a offense that could not be more opposite of what they ran last year. Include that we have no reason to believe that Doug Pederson is a good head coach and the upcoming season looks very scary for fans in city of brotherly love. Comments are closed.
