RIP to one of the greats, Arnold Palmer

RIP to one of the greatest golfers to ever live, and an even better drink creator, Arnold Palmer. 

Yesterday, the golf world lost an amazing icon and an even better player, Arnold Palmer passed away at the age of 87. It's a sad day in the golf world, as one of the best role models the sport has ever seen passes away. Even if you don't know a single golfer, you know the name Arnold Palmer. The man accomplished so much in his career, and he did even more for the game of golf. Take a look at some of his accomplishments over the years:

• Won 92 professional tournaments worldwide
• Designed more than 250 golf courses around the world
• Honored with more than 130 awards and distinctions
• First golfer awarded the Presidential Medal of Freedom in 2004
• Second golfer awarded Congressional Gold Medal in 2009
• One of the original 13 inductees into the World Golf Hall of Fame in 1974
• 62 career PGA Tour wins (5th most of all time)
• Won 7 professional majors (tied for 7th most of all time)
• Won 7 majors in a 6 year span, no player has won more than 3 in a 6 year time frame. 
• Won U.S. Amateur, U.S. Open, and U.S. Senior Open (first to win all 3)
• Two-time PGA Player of the year
• Four-time Vardon Trophy Winner
• Awarded PGA Tour Lifetime Achievement Award in 1998
• One of four players to win the Masters four or more times 
• Co-Founder of the Golf Channel

WOW. Now that's a crazy list of achievements. Over a 50 year span, Arnold Palmer made such a large impact on the lives of Golf Fans across the Country and even the World. But maybe his biggest achievement wasn't even mentioned in that list.
