a blog by La Kifo The prodigal daughter of the octagon has a set in stone return. Rhonda Rhousey has been out of the fight game for awhile now. A lot of people know and saw her face get pummeled in by Holy Holm at UFC 193. Surprising as it was, victories and defeats happen in that way more often than not in the competitive sport of MMA. Also in this time, UFC fighters have rarely shown propensity to wait in between fights. A lot of rising fighters have taken back to octagon nearly 3 times in the past 8 months, Connor Mcgregor, Rhousey herself. A lot of fighters have jammed a good amount of fights into such a small time frame. Rhousey has not fought since her loss at 193, Holm who won went back into the octagon at UFC 196 and eventually lost to Miesha Tate. The long absence of Rhouseys name seems like a long exit from the sport but it lacks the serious nature that many have stapled to it. I could explain her hiatus with a million different things, it doesnt matter though she left for around a year. By the time she fights in November it will have been basically a year. It is a bit of an overreaction to losing but you don't have to fight 5 times in one year. The interesting part of Rhouseys return is that there is potential she will be featured in UFC 205 November 12th in New York, who just recently legalized competitive MMA in their state. It will be the first event held in New York since the passing of the law. Rhousey will be featured in this event because her team and Dana White have all been saying that she will be back in November. Also White said that Rhousey will fight whoever is the bantamweight champion. With New York and UFC 205 looking to be a huge event, it makes perfect sense Dana White would host a womens bantamweight championship fight. He would just take the 10 year plus ban that New Yorkers put on his sport and shove it right down their throats with two chicks beating the shit out of each other. Also he might play the comeback card in marketing the fight. Rhouseys return to fame, all that jazz. Should be a great night, the womens bantamweight division has turned into a self-sustaining event/sub-sport. Just as how some people may look at the heavyweight division of boxing, or at least used to. I seriously will watch any womens bantamweight fight that has one of the big 3. Holly Holm, I think shes hot. Disregard fighters face because she and every other fighter will have that at the end of their careers. I also like her fighting style, gained a lot of respect for her in the title fight and I had a lot of respect for her fighting before that for demolishing Rhousey. Totally based on merit I would fuck this chick, even if I had to bang her right after she got out of the ring. She is that good, but it does help when the make up and combs do come in. When they do, what happens in the ring barely matters. Rhousey I have put on blast, a lot. I don't like her at all, shes branded herself as a tough girl. That she was gonna end her career undefeated. Then when all that happened you expected people to feel bad for you. Come on. Shes a good fighter, really good. She sparked the ultra competitiveness of the top part of this weight division. I dont think shes hot but I think I am gonna turn around on that one. Borderline hot for me. Obviously I would have sex with her, shes super famous, super rich, and got a great body. Great body should be a given for the women in this weight class. Then it is my fav, the best, the champ, Miesha Tate. Scrappy, sexy, yet again great body. I do not know what else to ask for, maybe not to be frightened constantly while being around her but we can work on that. She is a pretty versatile fighter which is what makes her perfect for the big 3. Holm is the stand up boxer, Rhousey is the strong technical fighter, and Tate is a strong wrestler with good stand up game. Rhousey and Holm are in one mold and Tate is a chameleon who can play both games. Thats why shes my girl and the Champ. Long live the Queen. UFC 197 coming up, look for a preview. Cant wait.
