Mortgage Fraud and Insurance Fraud, this Oregon Man has a thing for Fraud

Shannon Egeland pleaded guilty to federal charges Wednesday when he admitted he had his son shoot him in the legs in an effort to collect disability insurance and delay jail time.

A developer convicted in a mortgage fraud scheme has pleaded guilty to additional federal charges after admitting he ordered his son to shoot him in the legs in an effort to collect on a disability insurance policy and delay his prison sentence.

Shannon Egeland, 41, pleaded guilty Wednesday to conspiracy to commit wire fraud and willful failure to pay child support.

Egeland was vice president of the now-defunct Desert Sun Development company, which orchestrated tens of millions of dollars in mortgage fraud during Central Oregon's real estate boom and bust from 2004 to 2008.

A judge ordered him to federal prison on Aug. 1, 2014, to begin serving a 10-year sentence. The day before he was to report, he was wounded in a roadside shooting near Caldwell, Idaho.

Egeland, who had moved to Idaho in 2013, told police he was hit in the head and shot in the legs after stopping to help a pregnant motorist in the middle of the night. It was later revealed the shooting was staged, and he had directed his teenage son to shoot him with a 20-gauge shotgun.

Oregon does not raise the brightest of people. This guy has to have some sort of fetish for fraud. Insurance fraud, mortgage fraud, and wire fraud. That is a lot of frauds. I wonder how many frauds hes committed that we don't know about.

My guess is none, never bet on the intelligence of people from Oregon. It will be a losing bet every time. If you're gonna go all in and try to fraud the court system out of jail time, why fake a shooting? Why not just get shot for real? Fuck some gangsters main hoe, rip off some drug dealers, ya know the easy shit. No one would know that your intent was to get shot.

The problem might have been that he moved to Idaho, where there is 1/4 of a black person per capita. If you're so into fraud, maybe next time try not being bad at it. I could fraud this guy into the ground. He was running amateur hour shit. He should try running up with the big dicks, get involved in some real fraud. It's not to late, I can still arrange a black person to shoot Shannon Egeland, no problem.  

If I was this guys son, fuck shooting him in the legs. I would have shot him in the head. Moving from Portland to Idaho is like moving from Gotham City to Haiti. Both are terrible places to live, but the latter is so terrible it makes the former look amazing. Also, think about the group of friends the son would have to switch into. He was with the alternative hippy bitches in Portland then to the crazily boring farm boys who wrastle pigs for fun. At least in Portland they did drugs for fun. Portland girls may have a gross amount of tattoos and piercings but they have a clean genetic pool. Unlike the chicks from Idaho, who are nearly all of incestuous birth. 

It probably took a lot from this kid not to shoot his deadbeat dad in the face, no doubt though he had fun doing it. Listen Shannon, take the jail time like a man. Stop fucking up everything around you and maybe you'll have a place to stay when you get out.
