Ichiro Is Not The MLB Hit King

The guy has some serious swagger though.
So let me start out by saying I have nothing but respect for Ichiro. He is the best thing to come out of Japan since sushi, and has put together a career worthy of being a first ballot hall of famer. However, he has 2977 career hits and the record for most career MLB hits is held by Pete Rose, who had 4256. The reason that people are saying Ichiro will be the hit king soon is because of the fact that Ichiro is closing in on 4256 hits when you add up his totals from the MLB and his years in the Japanese professional leagues. Now, this is just ridiculous. It is common knowledge that the MLB has the best pitchers in the world. Otherwise, players from other nations wouldn't be doing just about anything to leave their homelands and come pitch here. He did not face very solid competition over there and therefore, the hits he had over there should be left in Japan.
