a blog by Big Red Tonight we say farewell to one of the greatest basketball players to ever walk this earth. Kobe's farewell tour has finally come to an end, now lets take a quick look back at some of his highlights and milestones before he plays his final game. We first met Kobe when he entered the high school basketball scene playing for Lower Merion High School in PA. Where he dominated the high school level for years. After making his decision to skip college and enter the league straight out of high school, Kobe was selected 13th overall to the Hornets. The Hornets traded Kobe to the Lakers for Vlade Divac and the rest became history. Who is Vlade Divac you might ask? Well he's this serbian fuck that nobody's ever heard of. I'm sure this trade has haunted the Hornets ever since. It's funny that just went Kobe's skills start to go downhill, the Hornets finally become a good team. Bryant, finishing his 20th season with the Lakers, has accomplished so much in this league and has countless achievements and records to go along with him. In just 20 seasons, Kobe is 3rd on the all time scoring list with 33,464. He has 5 NBA titles and two finals MVP. He was named to 17 NBA All Star games and has the record for most points in all star game history. He has been named NBA MVP one time, and scored 81 in a single game. Not to mention he hit 36 game winning shots in his career. It is safe to say, that Kobe will never be forgotten. Hopeully, tonight we get to see a little taste of vintage Kobe before he goes, and I have a feeling we will. There are not many people like Kobe Bryant, I'm talking about guys who know how to step up in big moments. Kobe is playing for a team that sucks, and I am very confident that they will let him take all the shots he wants tonight. So hopefully, we see another historic night from him. Tip off starts for the Lakers vs Jazz at 10:30 pm et tonight. Everyone should flip back and forth between this game and Golden State vs Memphis which also starts at 10:30. Keep in mind that Golden State is in pursuit of the best NBA record of all time tonight. Before we say goodbye to Kobe it would be a shame not to show some of the best moments of his career. So here are some of my favorites. #5 Kobe Bryant shoots two free throws on a torn achilles heal #4 Kobe passes Michael Jordan for 3rd all time in scoring #3 Kobe's four consecutive 50 point games. WARNING HIGHLIGHT IS 12 minutes, trust me its worth it. #2 Just a classic Kobe tribute video for you all #1 you all knew what this would be.. THE 81 POINT GAME What an amazing player that I'm proud to say I got to watch.
