a blog by Iron Horse In this episode I actually had a prediction come true! Surprisingly though that ended up being the most exciting part of this entire episode. After last week with Hodor and the white walkers to end the episode I did not expect us to revisit Bran and his storyline so soon. Yet right away we pick up with Bran and his visions going berserk, while Meera drags him through the snow. Bran and Benjen! While Benjen coming to save him was very cool and I enjoyed the scene I would like to talk a little bit about some of the things Bran saw in his visions. Bran witnessed a shit ton in his visions last night, some things he had seen from personal experience and other things he had heard stories but never seen before personally. For instance, Jamie killing the mad king, dragons shadow flying over King's Landing, Jamie sitting on the iron throne, wildfire being created under King's Landing. Benjen will play an instrumental role in helping Bran move forward to stop the night king with his new found ability to be basically a living breathing history index of the 7 Kingdoms. Sam Tarly finally gets Gilly back to his home just in time for dinner and thing's never really go any better than when he left especially when his father comes to find that Gilly is actually a wildling. This actually ended up being my favorite part of the episode but when read the description for the episode I was looking forward to something happening in King's Landing but as we saw nothing really did happen just some more foreshadowing for the end of the season. Sam decides to go ahead and say screw his dad and that him and Gilly are supposed to be together. Big deal that he took his families sword, it makes me wonder where Sam could possibly be going. My first assumption was that he was going back to the Castle Black, but I think even more curious is that he's brought Gilly with him instead of leaving her in the "safe" care of his family. While I do like what Sam did this episode, I worry because he will definitely not get left alone by his father after stealing the family sword. He could have just left with Gilly and nobody would've cared or chased him. But now that he's taken the sword he will most definitely be hunted, and once again like they were in the north, Sam and Gilly will be on their own in the wild with baby Sam. I refuse to believe that Sam will all of the sudden become a bad ass with his family's sword but also I don't believe he's going to abandon Jon's word to become a maester. So I believe Sam is going to take Gilly to Old Town with him or straight to King's Landing with her. Next up King's Landing This was the marquis matchup I was looking forward to at the beginning of the episode. I was thinking okay, it's about damn time that we get to see this High Sparrow guy get his ass handed to him. But once again, like early show Cersei, he's always got something up his sleeve. This time it appears as though he's suckered Tommen into believing that the only way for things to work out between the faith and the King is if he drinks the cool-aid. Okay so things to note about this episode in King's Landing, first thing that stuck out to me with this scene was the fact that Margery while she played the "game" very well. I think she's still faking this whole "reborn" thing, she's always been good at playing the "Game of Thrones". When I think back to the last season I believe? The one where we started with Cersei as a girl being read a vision from the witch, I remember that she said all her children would die and that Cersei would be succeeded as Queen by a much younger much prettier girl. So I think in time we will see Margery come back into the fold as Queen but before that happens we will have to see something happen with the faith militant whether that means she does her walk of atonement, or they actually get the big fight between the Tyrell forces and the militant that we got teased this week. Onto Danerys and the Dothraki! So Danerys had the most bad ass looking intro to the show yet flying back in on a MUCH bigger Drogo this season, by now the dragons are almost full grown. But damn this scene was so cool to see her fly in on him after leaving the horde behind for a moment. The speech was alright, like okay she's pumping up the troops and getting the Dothraki horde to witness her on her dragon, but honestly I've seen this before. While I've enjoyed watching Dany's progression the last few seasons don't get me wrong, but you've got to see what I'm saying when I say I've heard this before. In my opinion this is just Danerys re-assuring herself that she's going to do this, I can not believe how long this has gone on. Sure we got to see her take over Meereen but by now come on, her ships are destroyed and she's got no way of getting over to Westeros. But just like we saw in Bran's vision, there's a dragon flying over King's Landing so eventually we will get here. I don't think this vision is from before the Mad King's rule, simply because Bran has not seen anything before Robert's rebellion the hasn't gone on beyond the wall. Other than when he was with the 3 eyed Raven and could control his visions. Arya now! Last piece of this episode that I want to talk about is probably the most important in terms of a single persons storyline changing. For the past season we've watch Arya try to become a faceless man and just get her ass kicked, she was blinded and made to sweep floors. Now though we finally get Arya Stark back! A girl is no longer no one! I've mentioned this to everyone I've talked to about Arya since she came to the house of Black and White. Was the fact that she left Needle out hidden, she was never going to be ready to turn into a faceless man as long as she left a piece of Arya Stark behind in the world. Now though comes the problem of where will she go now? I have 0 idea of where she's got to go, same with Sam kind of but at least Sam is in a "more civilized" part of the world. I think Arya will be back on the run but as a small girl in the world especially over in the free world is very dangerous especially with that other faceless chick after her. I think Arya's only hope will be to try and board a ship and sneak her way back to Westeros but honestly I am super baffled when it comes to this decision by Arya. I am ready for what the future holds! Game of Thrones Season 6 Episode 7 next week @ 9pm on Sunday! The Epiosde is entitled "The Broken Man" Comments are closed.
