a roast by La Kifo UFC 200 went down a week ago, the sale of UFC happened earlier in the week, and some questions still need answers. The biggest of those questions has to be the level of involvement Jon Jones had when it came to taking estrogen blockers. If you wanna learn a little bit more about taking PEDs, watch this video up until the 3:00 minute mark. Now this whole situation is not what I want to get into, but it does relate in a small way. Of course, with the news of Jon Jones failed drug test, he was pulled from UFC 200. This left Daniel Cormier, the light heavy weight champion, without a fight partner two days before the event. Luckily Anderson Silva called up Dana White and asked for the fight, which presented an interesting match up. Striker Anderson Silva against Wrestler Daniel Cormier. Anyone who knows anything about fighting knew that Daniel Cormiers game plan had to be getting Silva to the floor. Yet, the Las Vegas fans crowding up the T-Mobile area, booed Daniel Cormier throughout the fight, mercilessly. That is just embarrassing. I'm not some sage wise old MMA fan, but that is nearly the same thing as this. It's not the same thing, since the latter gets me hotter than Kim Kardashian after a studio photoshop session. Fuck those people. Booing winners is such a cowardly thing to do. Boo Hoo, the man I didn't like on the TV won, Wah. Fuck you if you boo Tom Brady, and fuck you if you boo Daniel Cormier. Even more of fuck you's coming if you boo those guys and cheer on these ones. Tom Brady and Daniel Cormier are essentially the same people playing different sports. Both are upstanding citizens, and praised by everyone they meet. They win, work hard, and don't make excuses.
Jon Jones and Peyton Manning are mirror images of each other. Both have taken Performance enhancing Drugs. Both have shady backgrounds in out of sport dealings. Jon Jones got in a car accident with a pregnant lady and fled the scene. Peyton Manning dragged his ball sack across the face of a female trainer. Jon Jones tested positive for cocaine days before his only actual fight against Daniel Cormier. Peyton Manning hired thugs to rough up and intimidate the man who leaked the story of his PED use. It is downright disgusting that these two receive every benefit of doubt and more applause/praise than any one person could ask for. Yet, upstanding people like Daniel Cormier and Tom Brady get booed on the biggest stages of their sports organizations existence. At that point, you are not a fan of athletic competition, you're a fan of drama, and mystique. The UFC, New England Patriots are not Downtown Abbey, not even Game of Thrones, they're organizations that represent a type of entertainment that is not scripted. These are businesses of attitude, preparation, and execution. If you want to see your guy win every time, tune into WWE Super Slam, I'm sure you'll find that a bit more to your liking. It's time to recognize greatness, especially in a sport like MMA. There are no teams, no city has it's own set of fighters. We should be able to sit down and see these fighters for what they are. Instead of handing our love over to the guy with the best finishes or the best pace of action. That makes no sense. This is fighting, the goal is to hit the other guy while not getting hit. The way the Daniel Cormier v. Anderson Silva fight went down was the only way it was going to happen. It wasn't going to be an exciting fight. Sorry that you guys were disappointed, but your #1, your guy, got busted for PEDs two days before the fight. It's not Daniel Cormier's fault, it's not Anderson Silva's or Dana White's, it is Jon Jones's. I got a suggestion, Next time you want to boo the winner of a fight, how about shutting the fuck up instead. Comments are closed.
