a blog by Big Red When you're buzz is running out, I guess you'll do just about anything to keep it going. Time.com - Jack Means, 57, probably knows what it feels like to regret a drunk dial. Police arrested the Florida man for calling police when there was no emergency — he was merely upset that his girlfriend would not buy him vodka. When deputies arrived at his home after he reported neighbors arguing, Means admitted that the call was just a prank, NBC-2 reports. On the Monday night call, Means told the dispatcher “It’s not what I’d call a true emergency, but it’s the same bull***t.” He was soon arrested on a misdemeanor for misusing 911. Here's our culprit, introducing Mr. Jack Means. No one likes the feeling of having their "buzz" run out. You start getting the slight headaches, and will do just about anything to find one more shot or a nice cold beer. So not only can I relate to Mr. Means, but I feel for him. With that being said, I don't think my first instinct would be to call the police. However, Florida is a totally different culture compared to Massachusetts, so I don't know what they're taught in that state. Maybe part of the high school curriculum is to practice calling 911 anytime you need anything. If that's the case, then I'm totally on Mr. Means side.
It's not like he really did anything wrong here. He just wanted another drink. If there was a cop just doing a speed trap when Mr. Means called, the police officer should have done this man a favor and picked up his booze. After all, our tax payer money pays these cops salaries. I hope the court system see's the charge the same way that I do, and throws this man a bone, because after seeing this man's mugshot he seems like a pretty reasonable dude. Comments are closed.
