Dwight Howard is heading to Atlanta

We all knew Dwight was going to leave the Rockets, but I did not expect him to get this big of a deal from Atlanta. Let's take a look at the details of this contract. 

Dwight Howard has just signed a 3 year deal with the Atlanta Hawks worth 70.5 Million Dollars. Over 23 Million a year is way too much for a guy who is a huge problem in the locker rooms. It seems like Dwight's game is beginning to decline as well. As last seasons stats were lower than his career averages. He finished the season with 13.7 pts and 11.8 rpg. While these stats aren't terrible, they're also not worthy of a max contract. Hopefully this new contract will light a match under Dwight's ass, and he'll make a big comeback next year. This contract will not look quite as poor in a year because the NBA is about to sign a new contract with the TV provider's, increasing the salary cap to 110 million. So get ready to see some crazy ass contracts in the 2017 NBA Free Agency.. 

This signing for the Hawks, definitely creates a good scenario for the Celtics. With the signing of Dwight Howard, it looks like the Hawks are going to give up on trying to sign Al Horford. Hopefully the Celtics can get a good pitch together for Al Horford and try to sign him as soon as possible. The Celtics need to improve their shooting, and Horford led all NBA centers in 3 point shooting. Not to mention, if the Celtics were able to sign Horford, the sales pitch to Kevin Durant will be a lot more appealing. Stay tuned for more updates on NBA Free Agency.
