Right around two hours ago the Denver Broncos and John Elway made a deal with the Philadelphia Eagles for back up quarterback Mark Sanchez. The southern Cali product is poised to bring experience and veteran leadership. Sanchez can not be the Broncos answer for a starting QB. Sanchez is extremely far from that and putting him as the starter on this roster would have immense repercussions. It is highly unlikely that this is the man they chose to lead their offense next season. The word is that the Broncos are still in line to go after Colin Kaepernick. Sanchez is a good backup because he can manage games. This deal might be telling that the Broncos are going after Kaepernick hard. The only other quarterback on the roster for the Broncos is Trevor Seimian. A second year pro out of Northwestern. Bringing in a guy like Kaepernick without a solid back up could be a huge mistake. Now that they have a proven back up who can play spot duty effectively, their roster is better suited for a player like Kaepernick.
Not to mention the amount of injuries he is coming off of this season. I have 0 faith in Kaepernick, I liked him coming out of college at Nevada but he has regressed ever since he went to that Super Bowl in his second year. I really do not think he has the arm talent or mind to be a starting QB in the NFL. He does deserve one more chance though and nothing would make me happier then seeing the Broncos destroyed from within by Colin. It would be great theatre and I am a big film guy.
