I do not know how I missed this, usually I am on top of my game, right on the wire with stuff like this. I am not beating myself up over this because this is a worthless trade. An offense needs solid starting 5 offensive line, good depth at running back, good depth at receiver, and of course a good quarterback. Getting a back like Murray really does nothing for a bad team like Tennessee. If they gave up multiple draft picks in first two rounds, the Titans have 3 picks in the top 64 picks, then this is an awful trade.
First of all Murray signed a huge contract, not just huge overvalued. And if you are paying for production, then you have to be paying low bill because Murray was terrible. Not all his fault, he was in the wrong system and why would sign someone for that much money if you are not putting him a position to succeed. Tennessee has Mariota. If they are gonna keep him a college type system, then Murray is even dumber then the inevitable high price tag that was put on him. In the read option you need backs who can use speed and agility to make space laterally on the field so that the defensive line eventually spreads out or tightens in. He could work in Tennessee, but I do not have the faith in the intelligence of the coaching staff down there to stick by that statement. The details of the trade have not been released even almost 24 hours later but they will be coming in soon. Really good move for Philly, they potentially got 1 or 2 picks in the top 64 which is really good for them because they have a lot of holes on defense. Imagine how much more money and success Demarco Murray would have if he stayed in Dallas. He would not be restructuring his deal, he would have endorsements still pouring in, he would have been in the pro bowl probably, and would not be moving right now. Free Agency is a wild game, not often do you see players making mistakes as to where they end up signing but this is a prime example. Comments are closed.
