A lot of rumors surrounding where Kaepernick will end up by the start of the 2016 season. ESPN identified three teams who have expressed interest in acquiring the 28 year old quarterback. The Cleveland Brown, Denver Broncos, and New York Jets.
All three teams are stuck at a cross roads for the QB position. Denver lost out on Brock Oswieler who took last years benching personally. The Jets are apparently at a cross roads with last seasons quarterback Ryan Fitzpatrick and it seems like a deal may not get done between the two. Cleveland has the walking disaster that is Johnny Manziel. The NFL is a dangerous place for Manziel to be, he really needs to work on himself. The Quarterback position is relatively weak in Free Agency this year, it is even weaker after the top 2 went off the market by getting signed on day 1, Oswieler and Chase Daniel. Kapernick is the best option right now for teams with out Quarterbacks. With the exception of the Browns, these teams have win now rosters. The Jets have a very good defense that is elderly and the Broncos have a somewhat young defense that is getting picked apart by the crows. The Broncos still won the Superbowl, I expect the defense to still be good next year. The offense is another story. While they did add offensive line, you first round draft pick is #32 and there are no good QBs available. The best place for Kaepernick would be Denver, the receivers have not had an accurate passer since Kyle Orton in like 2012 and he was not even that good. Manning was accurate but throws ducks and has thrown ducks since he got to Denver. Kaepernick and the whole offense would be comfortable seeing balls fly 10 yards over peoples heads or 5 yards to far in front of them. Going to the Cleveland Brown would be the worst option for Kaepernick, he would be buried in the graveyard that is Cleveland Stadium. They have no offense, they have no defense, they do not have any coaches either. The Jets would be another disaster for Kaepernick, it has already been established by B-Marsh that the JETS do not want him, they want Fitzpatrick. If Kaepernick ends up in New York, I expect a full locker room explosion and a rebuilding year coming after it. His best spot is Denver, he could actually have success there because they have a good system and good team set in place. I still do not see him being successful where ever he goes. He sucks, he has a terrible throwing motion and mechanics. Once you start changing around a QBs mechanics they start to get less accurate at first, until they get the hang of it. At 28, most teams should not bother. Comments are closed.
