a blog by La Kifo In a move to regain some of the lost customers, Chipotle is starting a three month rewards program called 'Chiptopia', after a disappointing year where the chain restaurant dropped 23% in sales prompted by a large scale health scare. Huge move by Chipotle. If you ask me, they didn't do enough after the e-coli outbreak. They had the text message promotion, one that had you text a phrase to a number and the reply message would be a coupon for a free burrito. That was cool I guess, except the promotion lasted for a day or two.
I remember texting them a little past midnight and getting a bullshit reply that claiming the window had just closed, no free burrito for me. I don't think I will be able to forgive Chipotle for the e-coli and that annoying text promotion until I get myself a free burrito. I used to be a avid Chipotle customer. Ever since I was not awarded my free e-coli burrito, I have not graced the fast food chain with my presence. It was like, everyone got a free burrito except for me. This 'Chiptopia' promotion might not even be enough for me to want to get back into the burrito game. Pizza would never do that to me. Pizza would never threaten me with e-coli, let alone deny me a free promotion slice. Pizza is always there and it is bipartisan. Burrito just gets to political in this world, and I need a food that doesn't carry so much made up baggage. Pizza is the food we deserve, but not the one we need right now. Comments are closed.
