a blog by Big Red After coming out strong in the first quarter, the Celtics play one of the worst second half's we've seen all year and fall to the Hawks 110-83. PATHETIC. For anyone that missed this shitty ass game, here are the highlights. WARNING: the celtics sucked. For starters, lets talk about Isaiah Thomas last night. He looked timid out there in the beginning. I think the booing from the Hawks crowd actually got to him. He didn't look hungry out there, and was not the Isaiah we all know and love. He left the game in the 4th quarter with a left ankle sprain, and finished the night shooting 3-12 from the field for 7 points. Coming into this game Thomas was leading THE ENTIRE NBA in playoff scoring. So to see him only have 7 points, really hurt the Celts. However here's some good news, Danny Ainge said it looks like Thomas will be able to play in Game 6 in Boston.
I loved the start the Celtics had last night, and honestly I really thought we were going to win this one after the end of the 1st quarter. It goes to show you just how much a game can change in the matter of seconds. It felt like Kent Bazemore was wide open the whole fucking game. The Celts did a decent job locking up Korver, but completely forgot about Bazemore last night. He ended the night shooting 6-14 with 16 points. It seemed like every shot he took he had 5 ft of space to get it off, so the Celtics are pretty lucky that he missed 8 attempts. It seemed as if the Celtics lost all momentum when the Hawks led by Bazemore hit three 3 pointers going into halftime. Now its win or go home for the Celtics in Game 6, and I'm fairly confident we can push the series to a game 7. It's going to take a lot of hard work from the Celtics and not just one good half of basketball. It seems like a constant trend were seeing in the Celtics, that they only play one solid half. If the Celtics can limit how many 3's we take then we can win game 6. If we go back to our old ways, of holding the ball too long, and chucking up 3's then there's no possible way we win this game. Game 6 starts tomorrow night at the TD Garden at 8:00 pm eastern time and can be watched on TNT and CSNE. Comments are closed.
