a blog by Big Red Despite a great comeback in the 3rd quarter the Celtics came up short against the Atlanta in game 1, 102-101. Here are some highlights of last nights game courtesy of the NBA. For starters, if you just watched that highlight video you would know that Brad Stevens son is WAY better than Buddenholzers little offspring. If that is any indication of how this series will go, then I'm fairly confident Bostons going to win this series. Last nights first half was atrocious, it's the fucking reason we lost. Of course you can argue that we took too many 3's and that we took poor shots down the stretch. However, if we didn't suck dick in the first half, then we easily would have won this game. Tommy Heinson was joking during the broadcast, that the Celtics should just start games in the 3rd quarter. He's right though, the Celtics have been playing so much better in the second half of games than we used to. Last night we something like 12/52 in the first half of the game. Not to mention Isaiah missed his first 2 free throws in his playoff history. So while I think we played great up until the last two minutes of the 4th, we wouldn't have even been in this mess if we could have just hit our shots in the first half. I think the biggest loss of the night was Avery Bradley hamstring injury. One of the main reasons I felt confident that we would win this series is because of Avery. His on ball defense was the main reason we got back into this game. With help from Smart, Bradley was able to keep Korver to 1-10 from the field for 2 points. Not to mention, Bradley started knocking down a few shots himself too. I am sad to say, that Avery will most likely miss the rest of this series, so hopefully we can pull out the win and have him back for round 2 of the playoffs. Lets hope that we come out with the same defensive intensity in the first half of Game 2. However, we need to come out strong on the offensive end, and I really hope Brad Stevens is able to limit the amount of 3's we take. Game 2 starts Tuesday night at 7 pm eastern time and can be watched on TNT. In BRAD we TRUST
