Bulls trade Derrick Rose to the Knicks

In a multi player trade, the Knicks have acquired Derrick Rose. 

MIND = BLOWN. What the fuck are the Knickerbockers doing? Derrick Rose's numbers have dropped since his injuries. Last year he only averaged 16 a game and 4 assists. He is no where near what he used to be. I have no idea what Phil Jackson and Knicks were thinking?

Trade specifics:

KNICKS send Robin Lopez, Jose Calderon, and Jerian Grant to the Bulls. 

BULLS send Derrick Rose, Justin Holiday, and a 2017 second round pick to New York. 

I don't get it. If anything this helps the bulls out. The bulls are clearly heading into rebuild mode, and Robin Lopez and Jerian Grant will definitely help them out a bit. Calderon on the other hand, is starting to get old, and does not have much left in the gas tank. This whole trade to me does not make much sense at all. Derrick Rose will be able to help for a year or two, but it will never be enough to beat the Cavaliers.. While at first it looks appealing to see that the Knicks now have Godzingis, Melo, and D Rose, Rose is clearly on the decline and Melo is getting older and fatter by the minute.
