a blog by Iron Horse Sad showing from the Bruins last night who really needed to get 2 points out of last nights game, but just thank the hockey gods we came away with at least 1. Bruins lose a gimme to Carolina
Last night was an extremely frustrating game to watch. A little less than a month ago on March 15th the Bruins were in 1st place thinking about who our first round opponent would be. Now we’re on the outside looking in with 2 game to go. Last night our lone goal came from Loui Eriksson who continues to find the back of the net with his 29th out of the box on a breakaway. My main question for the Bruins is in the shootout last night, why is Marchand not in the first 5 shooters of our lineup, you know since he’s our LEADING GOAL SCORER. The Bruins heavily outshot the Hurricanes throughout the game, admittedly the Bruins did a lot and Cam Ward stood on his head for Carolina. But our inability to put pucks in the net has lost us many games this last month and put us into the position we’re at now. Realistically Tuukka did allow a soft goal last night, but we can’t be losing games to teams not even in the playoff picture this late if we want to still remain a Stanley Cup Playoff team. Philly and D-town square off at 8ET on Wednesday Night Rivalry on NBCSN tonight and the outcome will heavily depend on whether or not we make the playoffs. Detroit has 3 games left and Philadelphia 4 (including tonight). So we gotta be praying for a Flyers regulation win tonight in Philadelphia. As we play Detroit tomorrow in the Garden where the Bruins have been extremely underwhelming. That is the only way that the Bruins will still have the playoff push in their own hands. I will be at the TD Garden Thursday, live tweeting from our twitter account @ForTheBoys_Blog so stay tuned. Go Bruins! Comments are closed.
