a blog by Big Red Just what a bunch of massholes need.. A large amount of cars driving the speed limit on our busy ass commutes. As you can see from the picture below, 93 north to Boston is already a bitch of a commute every morning. The last thing we need is a huge group of self driving cars that don't go above a certain speed limit. The city of Boston has partnered with the World Economic Forum to launch a year long program to test out autonomous vehicles, Mayor Marty Walsh announced Wednesday. The Boston Consulting Group will also work with the city and World Economic Forum.
On-street testing will begin by the end of the year, accoarding to the city. Many of the program's other details, such as how many vehicles will be tested, haven't been solidified. The idea is to prepare Boston for the autonomous vehicle future that is definitely ahead of us. Well this sucks. I know I can speak for over half the city of Boston when I say, our streets are already busy and fucked up enough. The last thing we need is to be testing self driving cars that won't go faster than the speed limit. If you've never driven in Boston then trust me your not missing out. It's one of the hardest cities to drive in for two reasons. Drivers in Boston, drive VERY VERY aggressive, hence the name "masshole". Secondly, the city streets are quite possibly the worst mapped out streets in America. There's a reason its ranked in the top 10 worst cities to drive in in America. You can be driving down a street in Boston, and all of a sudden you reach a dead end or a one way. We've all been there, and it's the worst feeling. Not to mention, these new self-driving cars are going to slowly but surely take jobs away from the American people. If you don't think taxi drivers will be replaced by self driving cars in the near future, then you've obviously never seen Will Smith's movie I, Robot. Comments are closed.
