Boston, the Best Place or just one of them

Yet again, Boston, named by US News and World Report, as one of the best places to live in the United States.
I can't think of a better place to live, but US News and World Report thought of six.

fox25boston.com:

U.S. News and World Report... ranked the countries largest 100 metropolitan areas based on affordability, job prospects and quality of life. Austin, Texas bumped Denver from the top spot it held last year to No. 2.

Despite a high cost of living, Boston is often ranked as one of the most educated cities in the country and one of the best cities for singles.

  • The Desirability Index measures whether or not people want to live in a given metro area. Boston's score: 8.2
  • The Value Index measures how comfortably the average resident of each metro area can afford to live within his or her means. Boston's score: 5.8
  • The Job Market Index measures the strength of each metro area’s job market. Boston's score: 8.9
  • The Quality of Life Index measures how satisfied residents are with their daily lives in each ranked metro area. Boston's score: 6.7
  • Net Migration measures whether people are moving to or away from each of the metro areas. Boston's score: 6.7
... top 10 cities:
  1. Austin
  2. Denver
  3. San Jose, California
  4. Washington, D.C.
  5. Fayetteville, Arkansas
  6. Seattle
  7. Raleigh-Durham, North Carolina
  8. Boston
  9. Des Moines, Iowa
  10. Salt Lake City
I, at the very least, have to disagree. Arkansas, North Carolina have got nothing on Boston. Excuse me but Arkansas, Kansas, Kentucky all those states are automatically disqualified from this. States like Montana, South Dakota, those states can never be on a list like this. It doesn't matter what ever you may say, people don't want to live there. Massachusetts is tiny, significantly smaller in terms of size than most states, has the 8th largest population of the states and two times the population of Arkansas. Now, I know that North Carolina is a beautiful place and the university campus at Durham holds the torch high but they got huge problems.

HB2, the bathroom bill, have we forgotten about this, US News and World Report?

The NCAA has not, they cancelled seven championship events according to US News, "The NCAA has pulled seven championship events from North Carolina, including opening-weekend men's basketball tournament games, for the coming year due to a state law that some say can lead to discrimination against LGBT people.

In a news release Monday, the NCAA says the decision by its board of governors came 'because of the cumulative actions taken by the state concerning civil rights protections.'

'This decision is consistent with the NCAA's long-standing core values of inclusion, student-athlete well-being and creating a culture of fairness,' said Georgia Tech President G.P. "Bud" Peterson, the chair of the board of governors".

How can anywhere in North Carolina be a good place to live when they are missing out on things like, Ringo Starr, Bruce Springsteen, potential billions for schools/housing/highways, Pearl Jam, Cirque du Soleil, Duran Duran, Tacocat, Mumford and Sons, and the nail in the coffin, Boston cancelled on North Carolina because of HB2. I don't know how anyone is happy in North Carolina. After making that list, I realized everything and anything one could enjoy is on that list. HB2 took nearly all the entertainment out of North Carolina. Bish, please, plop North Carolina right off the list.

As far as the rest of the list goes, I don't really care. All those places besides the two we just eliminated are great places to live and caring about the minuscule differences that might make one better than another is not my thing. Do we need to care?

Over here in Boston, so we don't have time to give a fuck. We just know that we won the Superbowl.

It was snowing and cold, then the snow turned to rain and it stayed cold, but Boston had an insane time today. The parade was great and some of the moments were next level, especially Gronk and Bill, the only problem was the time in between and the structure. Which is the case for something like this, sporadic, yet functioning. That list was great and all, but I don't think the took into account sports.

At this point, I do not know how you could deny the greatness of professional sports in Boston over almost two generations long. With some serious coping mechanisms maybe.

I don't got anything on the actual game. The Patriots won, we won, I won. Your neighbor, Jim the co-worker, Larry your boss, everyone on TV and social media they all already have something to say.  They have dissected, analyzed every play, facial expression, muscle spasm. They have take-fucked every angle of the Falcons gameplan, execution, and play calling. Everybody has already talked about the game, no one needs one more take. It's sports, there are only so many opinions/"strategies" you can literally have. This is not kindergarten, there are stupid questions and stupid answers.

Great game, one for ages.
