a blog by Iron Horse Boston Bruins adding depth to the back of their bench from within the organization earlier today. Jay Pandolfo is a New Englander through and true, from Winchester, MA. He played his "cawlidge" hockey at Boston University before getting drafted in the second round overall by the Devils, where he would spend most of his eighteen year career, before ending up back in Boston playing his final season for the Boston Bruins. Most recently, Pandolfo spent the last two seasons in the front office for the Boston Bruins working in the player development department. It will be interesting to see what he can bring to this young team from behind the Bruins bench this upcoming season. The next addition to the Bruins coaching staff and the more influential one in my mind, is the "call up" of Providence Bruins head coach Bruce Cassidy. In the last five seasons as head coach of the "baby Bruins", Cassidy has led the team 207-128-45 record and not to mention he has worked with a lot of the guys that have made there way up to the Boston Bruins like Pastrnak, Vatrano and others.
Cassidy will look to make a bigger impact than the one he made in Washington twelve to thirteen years ago, when he spent a short time as the Washington Capitals head coach in 03-04 before being fired. Comments are closed.
