Umpires aren't supposed to be soft....so what the hell happened last night??
This article comes from someone who played baseball for 12 years and has umpired for five years and have been going to baseball games for 14 years. I've seen a lot and I've experienced a lot from all perspectives whether it's as a fan, an umpire, or a player. But I have NEVER seen an umpire as soft as Bob Davidson. I have never seen an umpire eject a fan....oh wait yes I have. Bob Davidson did it last night. This was his first time doing it in a Major League game right? Nope. He did it in 2010 as well. But before I get too much into it, let's take a look at the video.
Now, as always, there are two sides to the story. According to Davidson, for most of the night, the guy was just yelling "you suck!"Okay, no big deal. But apparently, the guy went too far and yelled "I own property on 69th street, you can come down there and suck!" Now, it might just be the fact that I'm still an immature young adult, but that is funny. However, Davidson made a good point when he said "he had lots of kids sitting around him. They need to hear that." So old Bob makes a valid point. But maybe he should have just given him a warning or something but he shouldn't have ejected him and given him that much attention. All in all, at least he's not the obnoxious fat dwarf that is Joe West.
